Siemens Multistix 10SG Reagent Strips test for 10 parameters, including specific gravity. These are leukocytes, nitrite, urobilinogen, protein, pH, blood, specific gravity, ketone, bilirubin and glucose in urine. The reagent strips are to assist in diagnosis in the following areas:
• Kidney function
• Urinary tract infections
• Carbohydrate metabolism
• Liver function.

The strips measure physical characteristics, including acid-base balance and urine concentration. The strips may be read visually, requiring no additional laboratory equipment for testing. The strips can also be read using the Clinitek family of Urine Chemistry Analysers. Test results can be used with other information to determine if further investigation is needed.
